Another dry blog entry for me. Story of my life I guess. While I’m in school I work part time at a local lumber/hardware store. It’s a fairly easy job, not a lot of stress. The most stress I tend to really experience is when someone asks for something we don’t have or I have no clue what they are saying. The best part of my job has to be the fact that I can be around things and people that get my creative ideas flowing. A lot of times we’ll get amateur builders or homeowners coming in describing what they need to get done. Having the resources at my disposal, I can put together plans and product lists while brainstorming and problem solving with some knowledgable coworkers and even other customers. The other enjoyable part of my job is that I can pick on my coworkers pretty much all day.
Being immersed into the lame college lifestyle is a bit of a culture shock to me. I say ‘lame’ because its not really even a lifestyle. It’s a community college town. I’m surrounded by people who have settled into this dusty little place. Even some of the people that said they wouldn’t, have started creating a pattern of getting settled here. The reason it makes it difficult for me is that I almost feel pressure to try and create a life here. I don’t want it! I tend to stay out of the social scene here. I don’t want to get comfortable here. End result of this, I don’t ‘get out much.’
After writing several paragraphs past this point, I decided to delete them. Too much negativity. That’s all I got for now.
